How to Sew with It
Cuddle® 3 sews smoothly with a few simple habits. Start by noting the direction of the pile before you cut: run your hand across the surface, find the direction it lies smoothest, and mark that direction on the back of every piece so the nap runs consistently across your project. Cut from the back with a rotary cutter or sharp scissors, then shake each piece — ideally outdoors — to release the loose fluff that fresh-cut minky edges always shed.
Fit a walking foot so the plush layers feed evenly instead of creeping against each other. Lengthen your stitch to about 3.0 to 3.5mm: longer stitches sit cleanly in the pile, resist puckering, and are much easier to unpick if a seam needs adjusting. Use sewing clips instead of pins to hold layers together — clips grip plush securely, do not leave holes, and cannot get lost in the pile the way a pin can.
For pressing, be gentle. Avoid pressing a hot iron directly into the right side, which can flatten the pile. Finger-press seams where you can, or press lightly from the backing side only, on a low setting.
Care Instructions
Keep finished projects soft by washing them gently: machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, and tumble dry on low heat. Avoid high heat, which can damage polyester pile, and skip fabric softener and dryer sheets, which can coat the fibres and dull that ultra-soft feel over time. Once dry, smooth the pile lightly by hand so the surface looks even again.
