SewTites Sew Magnetic Cutting System
The SewTites Sew Magnetic Cutting System solves the most common cutting accuracy problem in quilting — ruler slipping. The system uses powerful magnets embedded in both the cutting mat and the ruler to hold the ruler in precise position during cutting, eliminating the need for non-slip dots or constant ruler repositioning. Conventional mats are covered in the cutting mats guide, and blades in the rotary cutters guide.
How It Works
The SewTites cutting mat has a steel base layer beneath the self-healing cutting surface. The SewTites rulers contain rare-earth magnets that snap to the mat and hold firmly during cutting — you press the ruler down, it locks in place magnetically, and stays precisely positioned as you draw the rotary cutter across without any slipping or shifting. The result is consistently accurate cuts without the fatigue of pressing the ruler down with your full hand strength.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who benefits most from magnetic cutting?
Anyone with grip or hand-strength limits — arthritis, long cutting sessions, small hands on big rulers — plus precision cutters tired of the mid-cut shift that ruins a strip. The magnet does the holding a whole splayed hand used to do.
Do the magnets interfere with anything?
Keep magnetic-stripe cards and pacemakers at sensible distance and store the ruler flat — beyond that, rare-earth magnets don't affect rotary blades, fabric, or sewing machines. Pins and clips stuck to the mat edge are a feature, not a bug.
Do my existing rulers work on the magnetic mat?
As ordinary rulers, yes — the mat cuts like any self-healing surface — but the magnetic lock needs the magnet-equipped SewTites rulers. Most owners run the system ruler for strips and their old rulers for everything else.
