Frequently Asked Questions

What do precut sizes actually save?

Cutting time and waste — 2.5" strips feed strip-piecing and log cabins directly, 10" squares halve into half-square triangles, and fat quarters give print variety without yardage commitments. Patterns written for precuts skip the cutting table almost entirely.

How is cork fabric sewn?

Like stable vinyl but friendlier — a 90/14 needle, slightly longer stitch, and clips instead of pins (pin holes are permanent). It needs no edge finishing, doesn't fray, and machine-sews on any domestic machine, which is why bag makers love it.

What are wool Chubbys used for?

Wool appliqué — felted wool cuts cleanly without fraying, so shapes are stitched down raw-edge with embroidery accents. Penny rugs, folk-art table mats, and wool-on-cotton accent quilts all start from squares exactly like these.
