| Queen Most Common | 90"×108" | Queen bed with standard drop | The most-requested longarm size |
| King | 108"×108" to 110"×110" | King bed with standard drop | Wideback essential — requires 120"+ batting |
| Wall hanging | Varies — 24"×36" to 48"×60" | Display only | Design to fit available wall space |
▶ The Drop Formula Bed quilt size = mattress dimensions + (drop × 2 for sides) + drop for foot. A 60"×80" mattress with 14" drop needs a minimum 88"×94" quilt. For pillows-tucked-in coverage, add 10–12" to the length.
What size batting should I buy for a queen quilt?
Buy 96"×116" (Hobbs queen prepackaged) or cut from a 96" or 120" batting roll at approximately 115–120" length. For longarm loading, batting should be 4–6" larger than the quilt top on all sides — so for a 90"×108" top, 96"×116" is the minimum and 100"×120" is comfortable.
