Bliss Micro Magic™ 100% Natural Cotton Batting by Therm O Web is designed for microwave-safe sewing projects including potato bags, bowl cozies, and bread and tortilla warmers. Made from premium, USA-grown long-staple cotton without any added scrim or resin to ensure safe, even heating.

Can also be used to insulate casserole or pie carriers.
Available in 20” x 1 yd package (MM409.2036) and 20” x 15 yd bolt (MM409.2015).

  • Can be safely combined with 100% cotton fabric and 100% cotton thread to create microwave-safe steamer bags.

Safety Information

  • For projects that will be used in the microwave, choose only clean 100% natural cotton fabrics, thread, trim and batting. Polyester and synthetic fibers can burn or melt.
  • Never use more than two layers of Micro Magic in a project, including along seams.
  • Do not place Micro Magic in microwave on its own; it must be sewn between fabric layers in a finished project.
  • Do not microwave Micro Magic project without food inside. 
  • Micro Magic Cotton Batting is not fireproof or flame retardant. Follow all instructions carefully when using this product.
  • NEVER EVER LEAVE YOUR MICROWAVE UNATTENDED WHILE IN USE.

Project Directions

Bliss Micro Magic 100% Cotton Batting can shrink up to 5% when washed. To avoid unwanted shrinking in your finished project, we recommend gently presoaking the batting in hot water for 20 minutes; do not agitate in washing machine. Gently squeeze out excess water and lay batting flat to dry, or machine dry on lowest setting. Create desired project per pattern instructions.

Cooking Directions

  1. Place potato or other food item inside closed project bag. Place inside microwave.
  2. Microwave food such as potatoes or vegetables at 2-minute intervals up to a maximum cook time of 8 minutes. Warming tortillas or rolls may only take 30-60 seconds.
  3. If a longer cook time is required, flip project bag over and cook for additional 2-minute intervals up to a maximum cook time of 4 minutes.
  4. Microwave oven cooking times vary; refer to owner’s manual for best results.
  5. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT IN THE MICROWAVE WITHOUT FOOD.
  6. NEVER EVER LEAVE YOUR MICROWAVE UNATTENDED WHILE IN USE.

Care & Finishing

  • Prewashing by hand is recommended.
  • Wash completed projects in cold water/delicate cycle, tumble dry low.
