Description
Pellon® natural cotton batting with scrim, pre-cut into a continuous 2.5" strip and rolled 50 yards long — the batting format made for jelly roll rugs, rope bowls, coiled baskets, bag straps, and quilt-as-you-go strips. The 50-yard roll is the full-rug size: enough for the classic oval jelly roll rug in one purchase. Needle-punched with a soft scrim that lends strength and stability without bunching or bearding, with a 1/16" loft, 3–5% shrinkage, and stitch distance up to 10". Washable by hand or machine and dry cleanable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 50 yards enough for a jelly roll rug?
Yes — the classic oval jelly roll rug pattern calls for roughly 50 yards of 2.5" batting strips, so this roll covers a full rug without piecing multiple rolls.
Why does the scrim matter?
The needle-punched scrim gives the strip tensile strength, so it won't stretch, bunch, or beard as you wrap, coil, and sew — exactly what rug and bowl construction demands.
What else can I use 2.5" batting strips for?
Padded bag straps and handles, coiled rope bowls and baskets, trivets, and quilt-as-you-go strip projects — anywhere you'd otherwise cut batting into strips by hand.
