Frequently Asked Questions
Is Hobbs Polydown package batting the same quality as the roll?
Yes — Polydown package batting is the same product as the roll batting, simply pre-cut to standard sizes for convenience. The fiber content, construction, and loft are identical.
When should I choose the package format over buying by the roll?
The package format is ideal for occasional quilters who quilt one project at a time, for specific project sizes that don’t require a full roll, and when storage space for a large batting roll is limited. For high-volume quilting, the roll format offers better value per yard.
What stitch spacing is recommended for Hobbs Polydown?
Hobbs recommends stitching within 6" for Polydown batting. This accommodates most all-over quilting designs at standard spacing.
Does Polydown package batting require pre-washing?
No — 100% polyester batting does not require pre-washing. It is ready to use directly from the package without any preparation.
What sizes are available in the Polydown package?
Polydown is available in crib, throw, twin, full, queen, and king sizes. Check the current listing for all available sizes at Linda’s Electric Quilters.
