Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose Request grade polyester over Select grade?

Request polyester provides a thinner, flatter profile with more drape than Select. For quilts where a lightweight, drapeable finish is more important than dimensional quilting definition, Request is the right choice. Wall hangings, lightweight lap quilts, and quilts with very dense all-over quilting patterns often benefit from the thinner Request grade.

How many queen quilts does a 30-yard roll yield?

At 3 yards per queen quilt, a 30-yard roll yields approximately 10 queen quilts.

Does Request polyester maintain its flatness after washing?

Yes — polyester batting does not shrink or significantly change after washing. The thin, flat profile of Request grade is maintained through repeated washing.

What stitch spacing is recommended?

Quilters Dream recommends quilting within 8" for Request polyester batting.

Is the white specifically for light-colored quilts?

White batting is important when quilting with white, cream, or pale fabrics where any natural tan batting tone might shadow through. For medium and dark quilts, the natural color is equally suitable and often more economical.
