Why is the 10.5" the square to own?

The layer cake made 10" the modern default big block — pre-cuts arrive at 10", patterns build on 10" finished, and this ruler squares both plus cuts matching squares from yardage. It's the square size the last decade of pattern design standardized on.

What does squaring up actually fix?

Accumulated drift — piecing pulls blocks fractionally off-square, and assembling unsquared blocks compounds the error across the quilt. A trim pass under this ruler before assembly is the difference between flat and wavy.

Why grip matters most on a square?

Squaring trims all four sides with repositioning between cuts — every reposition is a slip opportunity, and the QS coating holds each placement without a grip mat under a nearly hand-sized ruler.

Layer-cake economics trick?

Cutting your own 10" squares from yardage with this ruler undercuts pre-cut prices for big projects — the ruler pays for itself in one quilt's worth of squares.

The 5.5" square for charms and the 6" Pink square below it — the QS square run covers the pre-cut sizes end to end.
