Frequently Asked Questions

How does a 19" Edge Snapper compare to shorter snap clips?

A 19" clamp covers a much wider span than individual 1–2" snap clips, meaning you need fewer placements to secure the full width of a quilt edge. This speeds up loading significantly, especially for wide king-size backings.

Is Red E Edge compatible with standard longarm leader canvas?

Yes — Red E Edge Snapper Clamps are designed for standard longarm leader canvas and work on most major frame brands including APQS, Gammill, Handi Quilter, and others.

How many 19" clamps do I need per leader?

The number needed depends on your quilt width. For a 90" queen backing, approximately 4–5 clamps provide complete coverage. For wider king backings, 6 clamps give full edge security.

Do these clamps damage the quilt edge or leader canvas?

When used correctly, Edge Snapper clamps hold fabric securely without puncturing or stressing the fabric edge. The clamping force is distributed over the full 19" length, reducing stress concentration compared to individual pin-style attachments.

Should I use these instead of or in addition to pins?

Red E Edge Snapper Clamps are designed to replace pinning entirely — they provide faster, more consistent tension without the risk of pin holes or uneven spacing that comes with hand pinning.
