Top 10 Questions About Roxanne Glue Baste It

What is Glue Baste It used for?

Precision basting: positioning appliqué shapes, basting binding to quilt edges before stitching, basting quilt sandwich layers for small projects, holding seam allowances flat for hand stitching, and any basting application where precision placement and temporary hold are needed.

Is it permanent?

No — Glue Baste It is completely water-soluble and washes out in the first laundering. It leaves no residue on fabric.

Is it acid-free?

Yes — acid-free formulation makes it safe for use on fabrics that will be preserved long-term including heirloom and archival quilts.

How is it applied?

The precision tip allows dot-by-dot or line application for exact placement. Apply small dots to the wrong side of fabric or seam allowance and press in place; the glue sets quickly.

Is it appropriate for appliqué positioning?

Yes — Glue Baste It is widely preferred over traditional thread basting for appliqué positioning because the precision tip allows exact placement, the hold is immediate, and no basting stitches need to be removed after completion.

Can it be used with fusible appliqué?

Yes — Glue Baste It can supplement fusible appliqué for repositioning or additional tacking of edges that lift between pressing steps.

Is it appropriate for binding basting?

Yes — many quilters use Glue Baste It to baste binding to the back of the quilt before hand stitching, eliminating the need to pin the binding in place.

What fabrics is it safe for?

All standard quilting fabrics. Test on specialty fabrics before use on a visible area.

Does it dry clear?

Yes — dries clear and invisible on fabric. No discoloration until washed out.

Is the 2oz size economical for regular use?

The 2oz size is practical for individual quilters. For high-volume appliqué studios, the 2oz refillable format is the standard choice.
