How does Quilters Dream 80/20 compare to Hobbs 80/20?
Both use the same 80/20 cotton/polyester blend, but Quilters Dream and Hobbs have different construction processes that result in slightly different loft and hand characteristics. Many quilters have strong preferences between the two. Quilters Dream is known for consistent quality and a slightly softer hand.
What quilt types is the Natural colorway best suited for?
The natural unbleached color is appropriate for most quilts except those with very light or white fabrics where the slight tan tone could show through thin fabric. For bright white quilts, the bleached white version is preferable.
Does this batting shrink?
The cotton content causes 2–4% shrinkage on first washing, creating a slight crinkled vintage appearance. Pre-wash if a flat finish is desired.
What stitch spacing is recommended?
Quilters Dream recommends quilting within 8" for their 80/20 batting. This generous spacing accommodates most pantograph designs.
What sizes are available?
Standard quilt sizes from crib through king. Check the current Linda’s listing for available sizes.
