Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Warm 80/20 compare to Hobbs 80/20?

Both use the same 80/20 cotton/polyester fiber blend ratio, but the manufacturing process and construction differ between Warm Company and Hobbs. The finished feel and loft are similar; many quilters have strong preferences based on their experience with each brand’s specific batting.

Why is the 110" width useful?

At 110", this batting provides coverage for queen quilts with generous loading margin, and fits most king quilts without seaming. It’s wider than the standard 96" queen roll, giving more flexibility for large quilts.

How many queen quilts does a 25-yard roll yield?

At approximately 3 yards per queen quilt, a 25-yard roll yields approximately 8 queen quilts.

Does 80/20 batting shrink?

The cotton content causes approximately 2–4% shrinkage on first washing. Pre-wash if a flat finish is needed.

What is the stitch spacing recommendation?

Follow The Warm Company guidelines for this specific product. Check the instructions included with the roll for maximum recommended stitch spacing.
