Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the 10-inch quilting distance significant?

Most cotton battings require quilting within 3–4 inches. Warm and Natural's needle-punched construction stays stable up to 10 inches apart, which opens up modern, minimal, and open pantograph designs that other cotton battings can't support.

Is it good for hand quilting?

One of the most popular hand-quilting battings — the cotton compresses easily under the needle and fine stitches pull through cleanly.

Does it shrink?

Expect 3–5% on the first wash, producing the classic crinkled antique texture. Pre-wash if you want a flatter finish.

Is it safe for baby quilts and sensitive skin?

Yes — pure cotton with no chemical additives makes it a long-trusted choice for baby and children's quilts.

How does it compare to Hobbs Heirloom cotton battings?

Similar loft and natural construction; the practical difference is the wider 10" quilting distance versus Hobbs' 3–4", which matters most for open quilting designs.
