Description
This one-sided fusible fleece from Callie Del adds a layer of softness, or a little extra body and stability, to home decor, quilting, bag making, crafts and apparel. It is 100% polyester, midweight, acid free so it will not discolor fabric over time, and sewing machine safe.
The 45" x 1 yard package is sized for smaller projects: table runners, tote bags, placemats and wall hangings, or pillows, footstools and window treatments that need body. For bigger projects, the Pellon fusible fleece 45" x 60" gives you more in one piece. It is not microwave safe.
To apply: interfacings do not need prewashing, but prewash your fabric without softener for the best bond. Preheat the iron to medium (wool) with no steam. Lay the fleece glue side up, place the fabric wrong side down on top, cover with a light dry press cloth, and press with medium pressure for 10 to 12 seconds. Lift and move the iron, overlapping slightly, until the whole piece is bonded, and let it cool before sewing. Test on a scrap first.

Compare and choose
- Fusible fleece or batting for a table runner?
- Fusible fleece is thinner and flatter than most battings and fuses in place, so there is no basting and the runner lies flat. Use batting when you want more loft and a quilted, textured look.
- Callie Del fusible fleece vs Pellon 987F?
- Both are one-sided, 100% polyester fusible fleeces. Callie Del is midweight in a 45" x 1 yd package; Pellon 987F is a low-loft fleece sold in 22" x 36" and 45" x 60" packages, bolts and jelly roll strips. For one runner or tote, either works; for bigger jobs, the larger Pellon sizes save seams. Pellon fusible fleece 45" x 60"
- Which side is the fusible side?
- The rough side is the glue side. Place it facing up, put the fabric wrong side down on top, and press through a dry press cloth.
- Can I use steam?
- No. Callie Del says to use a medium (wool) setting with no steam. Too much heat or moisture can flatten the fleece and weaken the bond.
- Is fusible fleece safe for hot pads or microwave bowl cozies?
- No. It is polyester and not microwave safe or heat resistant. For hot pads use Insul-Bright with 100% cotton batting. Insul-Bright 45" x 1 yd
