Description
Bosal In-R-Form Plus double-sided fusible foam, cut 20" x 58" for the Fat Quarter Gypsy wire-framed tote pattern, FQG141. The pattern is not included. The foam gives the tote body around the wire frame while staying soft enough to fold and sew.
Because both faces are fusible, outer fabric and lining bond in one pressing and the piece is ready to stitch and bind. For other projects or a different size, the same material is sold as 18" x 58", 36" x 58" and 54" x 58" sheets.
In-R-Form is a polyester foam with fusible adhesive, so finished pieces are not microwave-safe.

Compare and choose
- Is the pattern included?
- No. This is the precut stabilizer only. It is sized for the Fat Quarter Gypsy wire-framed tote pattern (FQG141), which is sold separately.
- Can I cut my own pieces from a full sheet instead?
- Yes. The precut saves time and waste for one project, but if you make several bags or want a different size, buy the matching In-R-Form sheet and cut your own pieces from the pattern templates. In-R-Form Plus double-sided 36" x 58"
- Single-sided or double-sided fusible: which do I need?
- Double-sided fusible lets you fuse an outer fabric to one side and a lining to the other in one step, which is how quilt-as-you-go bags, baskets and pattern precuts are built. Single-sided fusible bonds to one fabric only, so you sew in the lining or leave the back raw inside. Use double-sided when both faces show, single-sided when one side is hidden. In-R-Form Plus double-sided 18" x 58"
- How do I fuse In-R-Form?
- Lay the fabric wrong side down on the fusible side and press with a hot iron, following the directions on the package. Lift and set the iron down rather than gliding, so the foam and fabric do not shift, until the fabric is bonded across the whole piece. Test on a scrap first, and let it cool before handling so the bond sets.
- In-R-Form vs Soft and Stable vs Flex-Foam: which foam should I use?
- All three give bags structure without stiffness. In-R-Form is Bosal's foam laminated to a soft knit and comes sew-in, single-sided fusible or double-sided fusible. Soft and Stable from ByAnnie is a sew-in foam sold in 58" long pieces. Pellon Flex-Foam comes on 20" x 10 yard bolts in sew-in, one-sided and two-sided fusible versions. Pick by pattern: if the pattern calls for one by name, buy that one. Soft and Stable white 18" x 58"
- Can I use In-R-Form in a microwave bowl cozy or hot pad?
- No. In-R-Form is a polyester foam with fusible adhesive, and foam and fusibles are not microwave-safe. For microwave bowl cozies use 100% cotton batting with cotton thread, and for hot pads use a heat-resistant insulated batting with cotton batting.
