How do I make quilt-as-you-go placemats with this pack?

Lay a strip of fabric right side up on the Soft and Stable, place the next strip right side down on top, stitch through all layers, and flip and press. Repeat across the piece, then add a backing and bind. The bonus pattern in the pack walks you through it.

What size are the pieces?

Each pack holds four 13-1/2" x 18-1/2" pieces, a standard placemat size, enough for a set of four.

Project pack or yardage: which should I buy?

The project pack is pre-cut for four placemats and is the easy way to try Soft and Stable. For bags and totes, or several sets, an 18" x 58" or 36" x 58" piece gives you more to cut from.

Can I put hot dishes on Soft and Stable placemats or microwave them?

Do not microwave them; Soft and Stable is polyester foam and is not microwave safe. It is also not a heat barrier for hot pans. For trivets and hot pads, use an insulated layer such as Insul-Bright with cotton batting.
