How do I fuse the fabric?

Both sides are fusible. Lay fabric on one side, cover with a press cloth and press until bonded; turn it over and repeat. Let it cool, trim the fabric to the scalloped edge, and bind.

Are the placemats washable?

Yes. They are 100% polyester and machine washable.

Can I quilt the placemats after fusing?

Yes. Straight-line or free-motion quilting through the fused layers adds texture and secures the fabric. Use a longer stitch and a fresh needle through the extra thickness.

This Bosal Placemat Craft Pack holds four 12.5" x 18.25" scallop-cut pieces of Craf-Tex, Bosal's needle-punched polyester non-woven, fusible on both sides. Craf-Tex makes a placemat that is firm and flat on the table.

To make them, add your favorite fabric to both sides, apply a press cloth and press with your iron. Finish the scalloped edge with bias binding or trim for a one-of-a-kind set.
