Description

This is Bosal In-R-Form single-sided fusible foam cut into a 2-1/4" wide strip, 25 yards long. It is made for the Auntie's Two Fuse, Fold and Stitch Rug pattern (pattern not included), but it suits any project built from fabric-wrapped strips, and it adds just the right amount of body to purses and crafts.

A 2-1/4" strip is the right width to wrap with a 2-1/2" jelly roll strip, so you can fuse fabric to the foam, fold and stitch without cutting foam yourself. Coiled strips make rugs, baskets, bowls and hat boxes with soft, springy walls.

In-R-Form is a polyester foam with fusible adhesive, so finished pieces are not microwave-safe.

Compare and choose

What is the difference between the 20-yard and 25-yard In-R-Form strips?
Both are 2-1/4" wide single-sided fusible In-R-Form. The 20-yard roll is off-white and packaged for the Hat Boxes pattern; the 25-yard roll is white and packaged for the Fuse, Fold and Stitch Rug. Buy the one your pattern names, or the 25-yard roll if you want more length. 2-1/4" x 20 yd strip
How do I cover the strip with fabric?
Lay a 2-1/2" fabric strip wrong side down on the fusible side of the foam, press to fuse, then fold the raw edges around the foam and stitch, or fold in half lengthwise as the pattern directs. Follow your pattern for the exact fold, and test the fuse on a scrap first.
In-R-Form strip vs Flex-Foam or fusible fleece strips: which should I use?
In-R-Form and Pellon Flex-Foam strips are foam, so they give springy, self-supporting walls for baskets, boxes and rugs. Fusible fleece strips such as Pellon 987F are softer and flatter, better for table runners, mug rugs and binding-style projects. For rugs and boxes that need to stand, use foam. Flex-Foam 1-sided fusible strip 2.25" x 20 yd
Can I use the strip for a jelly roll rug?
Yes. Fuse 2-1/2" strips to the foam, fold and stitch them, then coil and zigzag them together. The foam gives the rug more cushion and body than a batting-only rug. Note it is a polyester foam, so press with care and keep it away from direct heat.
Can I use In-R-Form in a microwave bowl cozy or hot pad?
No. In-R-Form is a polyester foam with fusible adhesive, and foam and fusibles are not microwave-safe. For microwave bowl cozies use 100% cotton batting with cotton thread, and for hot pads use a heat-resistant insulated batting with cotton batting.
