Description

Mistyfuse is a sheer, paper-free fusible web that creates a lasting bond without adding bulk, and it will not gum up your needle when you stitch through it. It suits most fabrics, from velvets and cottons to delicate tulle, which is why art quilters and appliqué makers use it where heavier webs would stiffen the piece. It is environmentally friendly, solvent free and has no added adhesives, and it is ultra strong yet stays soft after fusing.

White is the everyday color for light and medium fabrics. The 10 yard roll is the value size for art quilters and appliqué makers who fuse often; the 20" x 90" package is the smaller trial size. Because there is no release paper, fuse it between parchment or a non-stick pressing sheet so the web does not stick to your iron.

Compare and choose

Mistyfuse vs Steam-A-Seam 2 or Wonder-Under: what is the difference?
Mistyfuse is a very sheer web with no paper backing, so it adds almost no stiffness and you can fuse sheers and layered art pieces without a heavy hand. Paper-backed webs such as Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 and Pellon 805 Wonder-Under let you trace shapes on the paper and, in Steam-A-Seam's case, finger-press pieces in place before fusing. Choose Mistyfuse for softness and sheers; choose a paper-backed web for traced appliqué shapes. Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 18" x 3 yd
How do I fuse Mistyfuse without a paper backing?
Lay the web on the wrong side of the fabric, cover with parchment or a non-stick pressing sheet, and press. Peel the sheet away when cool, cut your shape, then position it and press again to the background, again under a pressing sheet. Never put the iron directly on the web.
Will Mistyfuse gum up my needle when I quilt through it?
No. It is designed not to gum up needles, so you can quilt or stitch around fused appliqué without stopping to clean the needle.
White, black or Ultraviolet: which should I buy?
White for most light and medium fabrics. Black for dark fabrics and dark sheers, where a pale web would show. Ultraviolet is white and fuses clear, with a UV retardant to help protect fabrics from fading, for pieces that will hang in light. Mistyfuse Black 20" x 90"
Does Mistyfuse work on sheer fabrics like tulle?
Yes. It is sheer and suits delicate fabrics including tulle, which is one of the main reasons quilters choose it over heavier paper-backed webs.
