Description
Pellon 541 Wash-N-Gone is a lightweight 100% PVA wash-away stabilizer that supports the fabric while you stitch and then washes out completely, in any water temperature, leaving nothing behind. It is sew-in: hoop it under or over the fabric, stitch, trim the excess and rinse. It is the stabilizer for machine embroidery, appliqué, cutwork and monogramming where a tear-away or cut-away would leave visible remnants on the back.
The 19" x 10 yard bolt is the economical size for embroiderers who run a lot of linens, sheers and heirloom work. For a film topper that holds stitches up on towels and napped fabrics, pair it with Pellon 551 Sol-U-Film. If you prefer to tear most of the stabilizer off before rinsing, Pellon 2303 Tear-N-Wash does that in a 12" package.

Cuts are the hoop size plus about 2" each way, laid along the 10-yard length at the 19" width and turned where that fits more. Counts are approximate and assume no waste.

- Wash-N-Gone is a fibrous, fabric-like wash-away used as a backing in the hoop; it has enough body to support stitching on its own on sheers and linens. - Both are PVA and both rinse out. Tear-N-Wash is designed to tear away first, so the piece spends less time in water. Wash-N-Gone dissolves entirely and is the choice for cutwork, appliqué edges and anything where you want nothing to tear against. - Can I use it on a project that will not be washed?

- Does water temperature matter?
- Not for this one. Pellon rates Wash-N-Gone to wash away in all water temperatures, so cold rinses work. Soak until the piece feels free of stiffness, then let it dry flat.
