Description
Pellon 820 Fusible Quilter's Grid is a lightweight fusible non-woven printed with a 1" grid. You lay cut squares on the grid, press, then fold and sew along the lines, and the whole top comes together without pinning or measuring. It is the fastest route to watercolor quilts, postage-stamp quilts, charm-square tops and pixel-style wall hangings. The 45" x 10 yard bolt covers a lot of tops: a 45" wide piece takes a full row of squares in one go.
The grid is 70% polyester and 30% rayon, fuses to the wrong side of the squares and stays in the quilt as a soft, stable foundation. It is not a pattern material; for drafting and tracing use 810 Tru-Grid or 830 Easy-Pattern.

- How do I use Quilter's Grid?
- Lay the grid adhesive side up, place your squares right side up on the lines, press to tack them, then fold along each vertical line and sew a 1/4" seam, clip the seam allowance at each intersection, and repeat along the horizontal lines. The rows line up because the grid holds them.
- What size squares does the 1" grid work with?
- Any square measured in whole inches: 2", 2.5" squares work if you follow the printed 1" lines and use half-inch marks, 3", 4" and so on. Cut squares 1/2" larger than the finished size you want to allow for the seams.
- Does the grid make the quilt stiff?
- It adds a light layer, similar to a featherweight interfacing, and the quilt softens with washing. Most makers use it for wall hangings and small quilts; for a bed quilt the extra layer is noticeable but still quilts normally.
- Is Quilter's Grid the same as Tru-Grid?

- How much will a 45" x 10 yard bolt piece?
- Ten yards is 360" of 45" wide grid, so a 45" x 45" wall quilt foundation uses 1.25 yards and a crib-size top about 1.7 yards. The bolt covers several quilts.
