Woven, non-woven, or knit interfacing — how do I decide?
Match the interfacing's behaviour to the fabric's: woven (SF101) moves like fabric and is the quilting-cotton default, non-wovens give economical all-direction stability in graded weights, and knit (EK130) stretches with knits instead of fighting them. When unsure on woven fabric, SF101 is the answer more often than not.
Why is SF101 Shape-Flex the perennial bestseller?
Because it adds body without changing hand — fused to quilting cotton it produces bag panels, zipper pouches, and appliqué backgrounds that feel like better fabric rather than stiffened fabric. It's the interfacing patterns assume when they say 'woven fusible'.
