Description

Quilters Dream Supreme is the heaviest loft in the Dream Cotton line: 100% natural cotton at half a pound per square yard, with no scrim, resin or glue. It is a dense, warm, weighty batting for quilts that are meant to feel substantial, and for wall hangings and crafts that need body. It is not the roll for a light summer quilt or for hand quilting; for those, use Select or Request.

Each roll is 60" wide by 30 yards. That width covers throw quilts, baby and crib quilts, table runners and wall hangings in one piece, and the 30-yard length works out to roughly fifteen throw-size cuts. It is the roll we point longarmers to for lap-quilt production and for small customer jobs where a 93" roll would waste batting. For twin tops and larger, use the 93" roll.

Supreme is best quilted by machine. Like the rest of the line it can be stitched up to 8" apart, shrinkage is minimal, and pre-washing is not recommended. Because it is pure cotton with no scrim, it is also microwave-safe with cotton fabric and thread, though its thickness makes it a better fit for trivets than for bowl cozies.

This roll is sold on pre-order and ships in roughly 8 weeks.

Compare and choose

Supreme vs Deluxe Dream Cotton: how much heavier is Supreme?
Supreme is the top of the line at half a pound of cotton per square yard; Deluxe is the next step down. Both are dense, warm cottons meant for machine quilting. Pick Supreme when you want the heaviest, most substantial quilt the line offers; pick Deluxe when you want a heavier-than-average quilt that is still easy to handle on a frame. Deluxe Natural Cotton roll
Supreme Cotton vs Warm & Plush: which should I buy?
Both are thick 100% cotton battings without scrim. Warm & Plush is a loftier, softer cotton; Dream Supreme is denser and heavier for its loft. For a plush, cuddly quilt choose Warm & Plush; for weight and warmth, and for wall quilts that need to hang flat and heavy, choose Supreme. Warm & Plush 90" x 25 yd roll
Can I hand quilt Supreme?
We do not recommend it. Supreme is dense and heavy, and hand needling through it is slow work. Quilters Dream positions it for machine quilting. For hand quilting use Request or Select Cotton from the same line. Select Natural Cotton roll
Is a 60" roll wide enough for a twin quilt?
No. A twin top is about 72" wide and you want batting at least 4" wider than the shorter side of the top. The 60" roll is sized for throws (60" x 72" and smaller), crib quilts, runners and wall hangings. For twin and larger, step up to the 93" roll. 93" roll
How far apart can I quilt Supreme?
Up to 8" apart, the same as the rest of the Dream Cotton line. The needle-punched cotton holds together without a scrim even at this weight.
Do I need to pre-wash it?
No. Quilters Dream does not recommend pre-washing; shrinkage is minimal. Finished quilts can be machine washed and dried.
Do you ship batting rolls to Alaska or Hawaii?
No. Rolls and boards ship only to the 48 contiguous states; orders from Alaska, Hawaii or outside the US are cancelled and refunded. Pre-cut packages ship to all locations. Shop packaged batting
