Description
AquaMesh Plus is OESD's opaque wash-away mesh with a water-soluble adhesive coating. You hoop the stabilizer alone, expose the adhesive, and stick the item to it, so collars, cuffs, napkin corners, ribbon and other hard-to-hoop pieces never get clamped in the hoop. When the stitching is done, it rinses out easily with lukewarm water and leaves nothing behind.
It is meant for low stitch count designs on sheer, fine and lightweight fabrics such as chiffon and organza, where all traces of stabilizer must be removed. The 20" x 5 yard roll fits large hoops and multi-needle machines, or two smaller hoopings cut side by side. For dense designs or freestanding lace, use plain AquaMesh, which is hooped with the work.

Cuts are the hoop size plus about 2" each way, laid along the 5-yard length at the 20" width and turned where that fits more. Counts are approximate and assume no waste.

- Fabric stuck to an adhesive stabilizer is held less firmly than fabric clamped in a hoop, and a lightweight wash-away gives modest support. - How do I remove AquaMesh Plus?
- Trim the excess close to the design, then rinse the piece in lukewarm water until the mesh and adhesive dissolve. Lay it flat or pin it to dry.
- Will the adhesive gum up my needle?
- The coating is water-soluble and the designs it is meant for are light, so most stitchers have no trouble. If you see residue on a long run, wipe the needle with a damp cloth and keep the stitch count low as OESD recommends.
