Do I need stabilizer under Kimberbell Project Batting?

Allowing 1" around the hoop on every side, a 40" square yields about 36 pieces for a 4" x 4" hoop, 20 for a 5" x 7" hoop or 15 for a 6" x 10" hoop. Cut from one corner and work across to keep waste down.

Is Kimberbell Project Batting washable?

Yes. It is made for repeated laundering in a washer and dryer, which makes it a good fit for pillows, runners and quilts that get used every day.

Can I use it in a microwave bowl cozy?

No. It has a polyester scrim, and polyester is not microwave-safe. Use 100% cotton batting with no scrim, such as Pellon Wrap-N-Zap, and cotton thread for bowl cozies.

Kimberbell Project Batting is a soft, medium-loft batting cut into a 40" x 40" sheet for in-the-hoop embroidery, small quilts and sewing projects. It has a beautiful drape and enough loft to give quilting and embroidery some dimension.

A polyester scrim keeps it from stretching and pilling, so it holds its shape in the hoop and through repeated washing. It is snug enough for everyday use and goes in the washer and dryer. Kimberbell also makes it in a 60" x 60" sheet, and we carry the 19" x 3-yard blended roll for long, narrow hoopings.
