Stick 'n Stitch vs Sticky Fabri-Solvy: what is the difference?

Both are printable, self-adhesive and wash away. Sticky Fabri-Solvy is a fabric-like stabilizer that also works as a machine embroidery topper or backing and comes on a roll as well as in sheets. Stick 'n Stitch is aimed at hand embroidery, cross stitch and punch needle patterns.

How do I print a design on it?

Put a sheet in a copier, or a laser, ink-jet or bubble-jet printer, and use the lightest (draft) setting so the ink does not transfer to the thread. Print, peel the backing, and stick the sheet to the fabric.

How do I remove it after stitching?

Trim away the excess, then soak and rinse the piece in water until the stabilizer dissolves. Lay flat to dry. A second rinse helps on dense stitching.

Can I use it for machine embroidery?

It is designed for hand work and quilting patterns. For machine embroidery, a wash-away made for the hoop, such as Sticky Fabri-Solvy or a sticky-back wash-away roll, is the better fit.

Is there a Pellon equivalent?

Sulky Stick 'n Stitch is a self-adhesive, wash-away stabilizer in printable 8-1/2" x 11" sheets. Print or copy your design onto it, peel the backing, stick it to your fabric and stitch right through it, then rinse it away when you are finished. Nothing is left on either side.
