Description
T-Shirt Project Fusible Interfacing is a lightweight, single-sided fusible woven interfacing made to take the stretch out of t-shirt knits. Fused to the back of each shirt, it stops the knit from distorting while you cut and sew, so t-shirt blocks behave like quilting cotton in t-shirt quilts, pillows and totes.
It is 100% woven cotton and comes as one 60" x 72" sheet, which is enough to back a stack of shirts for a t-shirt quilt without piecing interfacing together. If you would rather cut from a narrow roll, the T-Shirt Quilt Stabilizer 12" x 5 yd roll is a non-woven option sized for 12" blocks.

Compare and choose
- Why do I need interfacing for a t-shirt quilt?
- T-shirt knit stretches in every direction, so unstabilized blocks warp, wave and pucker as you sew and quilt. Fusing a lightweight woven interfacing to the back of each shirt locks the knit in place so you can square blocks and sew them to quilting cotton without distortion.
- How many t-shirt blocks does one 60" x 72" sheet back?
- It depends on your block size. As straight arithmetic, a 60" x 72" sheet divides into thirty 12" squares or sixteen 15" squares, before any trimming allowance. Cut each piece slightly larger than your finished block, fuse, then trim the shirt and interfacing together.
- Woven vs non-woven t-shirt interfacing: which is better?
- This sheet is a woven cotton, which keeps a soft, fabric-like hand and holds blocks square. Non-woven t-shirt stabilizers such as our 12" roll are quick to cut and stay soft as well. Both are lightweight and single-sided fusible; choose the woven sheet for large blocks and whole shirts, and the narrow roll if your blocks are 12" or smaller. T-Shirt Quilt Stabilizer 12" x 5 yd
- Which side of the interfacing is fusible?
- Only one side carries the adhesive. It usually feels slightly rough or looks dotted. Place that side against the wrong side of the t-shirt, cover with a pressing cloth, and press following the package directions. Test on a scrap of the shirt first, especially with screen prints that may not like heat.
- How does this compare to HeatnBond EZ-Tee or Stabili-Tee?
- They do the same job. HeatnBond EZ-Tee is also a woven fusible t-shirt stabilizer and comes in the same 60" x 72" size; Stabili-Tee is a lightweight polyester non-woven fusible. Pick by hand and fiber preference: this sheet is the 100% cotton option. HeatnBond EZ-Tee 60" x 72"
