Description
Pellon SF101 Shape-Flex is an all-purpose, 100% cotton woven fusible interfacing. It gives crisp support to collars, cuffs, yokes, pockets, facings and other garment details, and adds body and permanent stability as a backing for needlework and punch embroidery. Quilters also use it to stabilize t-shirt blocks and bag makers to add body to cotton bag panels.
It suits light to medium woven and knit fabrics, including oxford cloth, chambray, gingham, madras, tattersall, pincord, flannel and polyester-cotton blends. This is a 60" x 1 yard piece in white; the 60" width means large bag panels and garment pieces cut in one go.
To pre-shrink, fill a sink with warm water and soak the interfacing for about ten minutes. Do not put it in the washer or dryer by itself or you may loosen the adhesive. Gently squeeze out the excess water and let it dry.

- Is SF101 woven or non-woven?
- Woven. SF101 Shape-Flex is a 100% cotton woven fusible, which is why it moves and drapes like the fabric it is fused to. That makes it the go-to for shirt details, quilting cotton and t-shirt quilt blocks.
- Which side of SF101 is the fusible side?
- The adhesive side has a slightly rough, bumpy feel and a faint sheen; the other side feels like plain cotton. Place the adhesive side against the wrong side of the fabric, press at the wool/steam setting and hold the iron in place rather than sliding it.
- Do I need to pre-shrink SF101?
- Pre-shrinking is a good idea for washable garments. Soak it in a sink of warm water for about ten minutes, squeeze gently and let it dry. Do not put it in the washer or dryer by itself, or you may loosen the adhesive.
- Is SF101 right for a t-shirt quilt?

- SF101 vs Pellon 911FF: what is the difference?
- SF101 is a woven cotton fusible with a soft, fabric-like hand. 911FF is a non-woven featherweight fusible: lighter, cheaper by the yard and fine for light support, but it does not drape like a woven. - Which width should I buy: 20" or 60"?
