Description
OESD Gentle Touch is a soft, lightweight fusible backing that you iron over the back of finished embroidery. It covers stitches and stabilizer that would otherwise rub sensitive skin, which makes it the fix for scratchy embroidery inside baby clothes, shirts, hats and anything worn against the body. It also works for covering uncomfortable seams.
It is white, non-woven and fusible on one side, on a 10" x 5 yard roll. Cut a piece a little larger than the design, fuse it over the back of the stitching once the embroidery is finished and trimmed, and round the corners so they do not catch.

- Is Gentle Touch an embroidery stabilizer?
- Not in the hoop. It goes on after embroidery, over the back of the design. Stitch with your usual cut-away or tear-away, trim it, then fuse Gentle Touch over the stitches.
- Gentle Touch vs Pellon 333 Ultra Weave?
- Both can protect skin from coarse embroidery on the back of garments. Pellon 333 is a fusible embroidery stabilizer that can also be used in the hoop on lightweight fabrics. Gentle Touch is a dedicated soft cover-up on a 10" roll. For covering only, either works. Pellon 333 Ultra Weave
- How do I fuse it so it stays put?
- Place the fusible side against the back of the stitching, cover with a press cloth, and press firmly over the whole piece, lifting and moving the iron rather than sliding it. Let it cool completely before handling, then launder the garment as its care label says.
- Can I use it on scratchy seams, not just embroidery?
- Yes. OESD lists covering uncomfortable seams as a use; cut a strip and fuse it over the seam allowance.
- What should I use under the embroidery on a baby onesie?
- Use a soft cut-away such as OESD PolyMesh in the hoop so the design holds on the knit, then cover the back with Gentle Touch. OESD PolyMesh White 15"
