Description
OESD Fusible Woven is a lightweight woven fabric with fusible adhesive across the whole back. Ironed onto light to medium weight fabrics before hooping, it adds body and helps prevent puckering, which makes it a good choice for large embroidery designs and multi-hooped projects where the fabric has to stay put between hoopings.
It is not a stand-alone embroidery stabilizer: OESD recommends using it in combination with a tear-away or cut-away in the hoop. White is the color for light and mid-tone fabrics. For dark fabrics, Fusible Woven Black keeps the backing from showing. The 15" x 5 yard roll covers hoops up to 8" x 12".

Compare and choose
- Do I still need a tear-away or cut-away?
- Yes. Fusible Woven stabilizes the fabric itself; OESD recommends hooping it with a tear-away for stable wovens or a cut-away for knits and dense designs. Kimberbell Heavy Cut-Away 12" roll
- White or black?
- Match the backing to the fabric. White under light and mid-tone fabrics; black under dark fabrics, where a white backing could peek through a loose weave or show at the edges. Fusible Woven Black 15"
- OESD Fusible Woven vs Pellon SF101 Shape-Flex?
- Both are lightweight woven fusibles. SF101 is 100% cotton and sold as general sewing interfacing on 20" and 60" bolts in white and black. OESD Fusible Woven comes on 15" and 20" rolls sized for embroidery hoops. Either adds body under embroidery; choose by width and how much you need. Pellon SF101 20" x 10 yd White
- Why use a woven fusible for multi-hooped designs?
- When you re-hoop for each section, the fabric has to stay the same size and shape. Fusing a woven to the back stops it from stretching or shifting between hoopings, so the sections line up.
- How do I fuse it?
- Place the adhesive side against the wrong side of the fabric, cover with a press cloth, and press in sections, lifting the iron rather than sliding it. Let it cool before hooping.
