Description
Kimberbell Heavy Cut-Away is a non-woven embroidery stabilizer that stays in the project for permanent reinforcement. It is the backing for dense designs on wovens, knits, stretchy fabrics and anything that needs support through wear and washing. After embroidering, trim the excess close to the design with scissors.
It handles medium to heavy stitch count designs, works with soft as well as crisp fabrics, and suits medium-weight knits and lightweight denim. The 12" x 10 yard roll suits 4" x 4", 5" x 7" and 6" x 10" hoops. For 8" x 12" and larger hoops, the 20" roll cuts with less waste.

Cuts are the hoop size plus about 2" each way, laid along the 10-yard length at the 12" width and turned where that fits more. Counts are approximate and assume no waste.

- Heavy, medium or light mesh cut-away: which do I need?
- Match the weight to the design and fabric. Heavy is for dense, high stitch count designs and sturdier knits like sweatshirts. Medium covers most everyday designs on knits and wovens. - How close should I trim cut-away stabilizer?
- Trim about 1/4" from the stitching, rounding the corners so they do not show through or rub. Trimming right up to the stitches can weaken the design edge.
