Cut-Away Plus is medium weight, for dense designs, sweatshirts, jackets and open-weave fabrics. Soft N Sheer is Sulky's lightweight cut-away for lighter knits and wovens, where a heavier backing would show or feel stiff. Use Cut-Away Plus when the design is heavy; use Soft N Sheer when the fabric is light.

Is a 7-2/3" width wide enough?

It is sized for small hoops such as 4" x 4". Stabilizer needs to extend past the hoop on all sides so it can be clamped, so for 5" x 7" and larger hoops buy a 10" or wider roll.

Sulky Cut-Away Plus is an acid-free, medium-weight, non-woven cut-away stabilizer with a soft hand and excellent stability. It stays in the project permanently, so the embroidery is supported through every washing and wearing. Sulky recommends it for knits and outerwear such as jackets, sweaters and sweatshirts, for dense designs, for open-weave fabrics with complex designs, and for high-detail embroidery.
