Description
Hobbs Heirloom Premium 80/20 Fusible is the regular 80/20 Heirloom with a water-soluble fusing agent on both sides, so you press your quilt sandwich together instead of pinning or spray-basting it. The 96" x 30 yard roll covers queen tops and smaller in one piece.
Fuse with a hot, dry iron (no steam), pressing from the center out rather than sliding the iron. The bond holds through quilting and washes out in the first laundering, leaving the same soft 80/20 hand as the standard roll.

Compare and choose
- How do I fuse Hobbs 80/20 Fusible batting?
- Layer backing, batting and top, then press with a dry iron at the setting for your fabric, holding the iron in place a few seconds per area and working from the center outward. Do not use steam; the fusing agent is water-soluble. If a section lifts, press it again.
- Fusible vs regular 80/20: is the batting different?
- The batting itself is the same 80/20 Heirloom: same loft, shrinkage and 4" stitch spacing. The fusible adds a few dollars per yard and saves the basting step. Once washed, you cannot tell them apart. Standard Hobbs 80/20 96" roll
- Can I quilt fusible batting on a longarm?
- Yes, though most longarmers do not need to, since the frame holds the layers. Fusible shines on domestic machines and for small projects where basting is the slow step.
- 96" vs 108" vs 120": which width for my quilt?
- Pick a batting at least 4" wider than the shorter side of your quilt top. A queen top (about 90" x 108") fits a 96" roll with the 108" running along the roll. A king top (108" to 120" wide) does not fit a 96" roll in one piece; use a 120" roll. Hobbs 80/20 120" roll
- Do you ship batting rolls to Alaska or Hawaii?
- No. Rolls and boards ship only to the 48 contiguous states; orders from Alaska, Hawaii or outside the US are cancelled and refunded. Pre-cut packages ship to all locations. Shop packaged batting
- Do I need to pre-wash this batting?
- No. Pre-washing is not recommended. Expect 3-5% shrinkage in the first wash, which gives the soft, crinkled finish most quilters want.
