It uses a 60/40 cotton-poly blend instead of 80/20, so it has about twice the loft (1/4" vs 1/8"), a slightly springier feel and the same 3-5% shrinkage and 4" stitch spacing. Choose Deluxe when you want quilting texture to stand out; choose 80/20 for a flatter antique look.

Deluxe gives a noticeable loft at a cotton-blend price. Wool is loftier still, lighter and breathes better, but costs considerably more per yard.

Yes. Linda's Deluxe is manufactured by Hobbs Bonded Fibers to our specification and sold only through Linda's.

96" vs 108" vs 120": which width for my quilt?

Pick a batting at least 4" wider than the shorter side of your quilt top. A queen top (about 90" x 108") fits a 96" roll with the 108" running along the roll. A king top (108" to 120" wide) does not fit a 96" roll in one piece; use a 120" roll.

Do you ship batting rolls to Alaska or Hawaii?

No. Rolls and boards ship only to the 48 contiguous states; orders from Alaska, Hawaii or outside the US are cancelled and refunded. Pre-cut packages ship to all locations.

Do I need to pre-wash this batting?

No. Pre-washing is not recommended. Expect 3-5% shrinkage in the first wash, which gives the soft, crinkled finish most quilters want.

Linda's Deluxe Cotton/Poly is our house blend, made for us by Hobbs, for quilters who want more loft than a standard 80/20 without giving up the soft hand of cotton. The 60% cotton / 40% polyester mix gives a plush, even body that machine quilts beautifully and holds its shape wash after wash. Each roll is 96" wide by 30 yards and covers queen tops and smaller in one piece.

It is needle-punched so it resists shifting and bunching under the needle and gives clean stitch definition on light and dark fabrics. Machine washable and dryable.
