Description
Hobbs Polyester 6oz is a high-loft batting for projects where you want warmth, body, and a soft, puffy finish. It is a favorite for comforters, tied quilts, and trapunto work where the extra dimension really shows. At 96" wide by 30 yards, one roll covers a lot of projects.
Being 100% polyester, it does not shrink, so your finished piece keeps its shape and size. It quilts well by hand or machine and works beautifully behind both light and dark fabrics.
Important: this batting is tightly compressed for shipping. Open the bag and let it relax and loft up for one to two weeks before use so it reaches its full thickness.

Why does my batting look thin when it arrives?
It is tightly compressed for shipping. Open the bag and let it rest for one to two weeks and it will loft up to its full 6 oz thickness.
Does polyester batting shrink?
No. This batting is 100% polyester and does not shrink, so there is no need to pre-wash and your finished project keeps its size.
What is it best for?
High-loft, cozy projects such as comforters, tied quilts, and trapunto, where you want extra puff and warmth.
How far apart can I quilt it?
You can space stitching 4 to 6" apart, a little wider than cotton battings allow.
