Description

Lori Holt Sew-In Interfacing comes precut into 100 squares, each 10" x 10", in a non-fusible light to medium weight polyester. It is made for Lori's Sew Simple Shapes and works with her specialty rulers, and the ready-cut squares are handy for sew-alongs, classes and craft projects.

Because it is sew-in, you stitch it to the appliqué fabric, trim, turn the shape through a small slit, and press for a smooth turned edge, ready to appliqué by hand or machine. For shapes larger than 10", or to cut your own sizes, buy Lori Holt's 20" x 3 yard bolt of the same interfacing.

Squares or bolt: which should I buy?
The 100 precut 10" squares save cutting and suit shapes that fit within 10", which covers most Sew Simple Shapes. The 20" x 3 yard bolt suits larger shapes and odd sizes. It is the same light to medium sew-in interfacing. Lori Holt packaged interfacing 3 yd
Why use sew-in instead of fusible interfacing for appliqué?
In the turned-edge method you stitch the interfacing to the right side of the fabric and turn it, so a fusible would stick while you turn. Sew-in turns cleanly and keeps the appliqué soft after it is stitched down.
How many shapes can I get from one square?
It depends on the shape size. Small Sew Simple Shapes often fit two to four to a 10" square; larger shapes use one square each. Trace the templates close together to get the most from each square.
Can I use another lightweight sew-in instead?
Yes. Pellon 910 Sew-In Featherweight and Pellon P45 Lightweight Sew-In both work with the turned-edge method, but they come on bolts you cut yourself. Lori's squares are the weight her sew-alongs were written around. Pellon P45 Lightweight Sew-In
Is it washable?
It is polyester, so it stays stable through washing. Wash the finished quilt according to the care instructions for your fabrics.
