Description
Pellon 525 Decovil Light is the softer, more flexible sibling of 526 Decovil: a one-sided fusible interfacing with a leather-like hand that gives bags, hats and fabric bowls lasting shape without board-stiff bulk. It is tear-resistant yet dimensionally stable, easy to shape and resilient, resists bending, can be punched, and cuts with clean edges. It sews easily with natural or synthetic fabrics.
This 17" x 10 yard bolt is the production format for bag makers who cut exactly what each pattern calls for. Choose Decovil Light when the project needs to hold a shape but still flex: soft-structured bags, curved bowls, hat crowns and belts. When you want maximum, near-rigid body, use Pellon 526 Decovil on the same bolt or as a 17" x 54" package.

Compare and choose
- When should I use Decovil Light instead of regular Decovil?
- Choose 525 Decovil Light when the project needs to hold a shape but still flex: soft-structured bags, curved bowls, hat crowns. Choose 526 Decovil when you want maximum, near-rigid body for structured handbags, brims and belts. Both fuse the same way and have the same leather-like surface. Pellon 526 Decovil 17" x 10 yd bolt
- How do I fuse Pellon 525 Decovil Light?
- Place the adhesive side against the wrong side of your fabric, cover with a damp press cloth, and press with an iron on the wool setting about 6 seconds per section. Let it cool flat before handling so the bond sets.
- Can I sew through Decovil Light?
- Yes. It sews easily on a home machine. A 90/14 needle and a slightly longer stitch give the cleanest results, and grading it out of seam allowances keeps bulky intersections flat.
- Decovil Light vs Peltex or Soft and Stable: which structure layer?
- Peltex 70 is a stiff sew-in board for boxes and flat panels and does not flex or fuse. Soft and Stable is a foam: padded, soft structure for quilted bags. Decovil Light is thin, fusible and leather-like; it bends and holds a curve without padding, which is why bag makers use it for bodies, flaps and hat crowns where foam is too bulky. - How much Decovil Light do I need for a bag?
- Most bag patterns list the interfacing yardage; the 17" width is the figure to check against pattern pieces. Buying the bolt lets you cut exactly what each pattern calls for without packaged-piece waste.
