Description

Quilters Dream Select White 80/20 is the bleached version of Dream 80/20: 80% long-staple bleached white cotton with 20% fine denier polyester microfibers, and no scrim, resin or binder. Buy it for white, cream and pastel tops where a natural batting would shadow through. Select is the mid loft, lightweight and the one most quilters want for everyday bed quilts.

Each roll is 60" wide by 30 yards. That width covers throw quilts, baby and crib quilts, table runners and wall hangings in one piece, and the 30-yard length works out to roughly fifteen throw-size cuts. It is the roll we point longarmers to for lap-quilt production and for small customer jobs where a 93" roll would waste batting. For twin tops and larger, use the 93" roll.

It suits hand and machine quilting, drapes smoothly, shows stitch definition well and can be quilted up to 8" apart. Shrinkage is minimal and there is no need to pre-wash. It is not microwave-safe because of the polyester content.

This roll is sold on pre-order and ships in roughly 8 weeks.

Compare and choose

White or natural 80/20: do I need the white?
Only under light fabrics. The natural 80/20 is fine under most prints, but under white, cream or pastel tops its tan tone can show through. Select White 80/20 is the same batting made with bleached cotton. For medium and dark tops, buy the natural roll. Select Natural 80/20 roll
Dream White 80/20 vs Hobbs Bleached 80/20: which should I buy?
Both are bleached 80/20 blends without scrim. Hobbs Heirloom Bleached is lightly resin-bonded, shrinks 3-5% and wants quilting within 4"; it comes on a 108" roll. Dream White 80/20 has no resin, shrinks minimally and can be quilted up to 8" apart. Choose Hobbs for the classic crinkle and a lower roll price; choose Dream for open quilting and a flatter finish. Hobbs Heirloom Bleached 80/20 108" roll
White 80/20 vs Select White Cotton: blend or pure cotton?
Select White Cotton is 100% cotton with a denser, more traditional hand and is microwave-safe with cotton thread. The White 80/20 is a little lighter and springier, resists wrinkles and dries faster. Both are bleached, scrim-free and quilt up to 8" apart. Select White Cotton roll
Is a 60" roll wide enough for a twin quilt?
No. A twin top is about 72" wide and you want batting at least 4" wider than the shorter side of the top. The 60" roll is sized for throws (60" x 72" and smaller), crib quilts, runners and wall hangings. For twin and larger, step up to the 93" roll. 93" roll
Do I need to pre-wash it?
No. Shrinkage is minimal, so there is no need to pre-wash and the finished quilt stays close to its quilted size.
Do you ship batting rolls to Alaska or Hawaii?
No. Rolls and boards ship only to the 48 contiguous states; orders from Alaska, Hawaii or outside the US are cancelled and refunded. Pre-cut packages ship to all locations. Shop packaged batting
