Description
Quilters Select Perfect Cotton is an all-cotton batting made with no chemicals and no bleaching. It is for quilters who want a natural, soft cotton quilt but also want the batting to stay put: the cotton fibers are needle-punched onto a light scrim (foundation) that controls stretching and movement during quilting and embellishing.
The 122" x 20-yard roll is the longarm format: wide enough for a king top in one piece, with about six king or eight queen cuts per roll.
The smooth loft gives a flat, traditional finish and stitches easily by hand or machine without distorting.

Compare and choose
- Perfect Cotton roll or Hobbs Heirloom 100% Cotton 120" roll?
- Both are unbleached cotton on a thin scrim, wide enough for a king in one piece. The Hobbs roll is 120" x 30 yards; the Select Perfect Cotton roll is 122" x 20 yards and is made with no chemicals and no bleaching. Choose on yardage and hand. Hobbs Heirloom 100% Cotton 120" roll
- Perfect Cotton vs Warm & Natural: which should I choose?
- Both are needle-punched cotton on a scrim with a flat, traditional finish. Warm & Natural is the long-time standard and is rated to quilt up to 10" apart. Select Perfect Cotton is made with no chemicals and no bleaching and is known for a soft hand. Choose Warm & Natural for the widest stitch spacing; choose Perfect Cotton for a softer all-cotton quilt. Warm & Natural packages
- How many quilts does a 20-yard roll make?
- Twenty yards is 720". At 122" wide that cuts about six 120" kings, eight queens turned crosswise, ten twins, or twenty throws cut two across. Counts assume no waste between cuts.
- Perfect Cotton or Quilters Select Blend?
- Same light scrim and needle-punched construction. Perfect Cotton is all cotton fiber; the Blend adds polyester for resilience and is rated to quilt up to 8-1/2" apart. Choose Perfect Cotton for a natural-fiber quilt, the Blend for a hard-wearing everyday quilt.
- Can I use it under a white quilt?
- It is unbleached, so tiny natural cotton flecks can shadow through white or very pale fabric. For white and pastel quilts, choose a white cotton batting such as Quilters Dream Select White. Quilters Dream Select White Cotton
- Is it safe for microwave bowl cozies?
- We do not recommend it. Only 100% cotton batting with no scrim and no polyester is suited to the microwave, and this batting is built on a scrim. For bowl cozies and hot pads that go in the microwave, use Pellon Wrap-N-Zap. Pellon Wrap-N-Zap
- Will it shrink?
- Like any unwashed cotton batting, expect some shrinkage in the first wash, which gives a soft, crinkled finish. The manufacturer does not publish a figure on this listing, so if exact size matters, wash a test sample first.
