Description
Sulky Ultra Solvy is an extra-heavy, clear water-soluble stabilizer: four times as firm, thick and heavy as the original Sulky Solvy. Use it as the stitching support for computerized lace embroidery and decorative stitch sewing, or as a design template and pattern guide. It is temporary: rinse it in water and it dissolves.
The 8" x 8 yard roll suits small hoops, 4" x 4" and 5" x 7", and narrow decorative-stitch work. A bonus: it sticks to fabric when moistened, which helps hold it in place. All Sulky stabilizers are acid and lead free.

Cuts are the hoop size plus about 2" each way, laid along the 8-yard length at the 8" width and turned where that fits more. Counts are approximate and assume no waste.

- Yes, that is its main job. It is heavy enough to carry lace stitching on its own. For very dense lace, hoop two layers. When the lace is done, rinse until the stabilizer is gone; leaving a little in stiffens the lace if you want it to hold a shape.
- How do I remove water-soluble stabilizer?
- Trim away the excess, then rinse or soak the piece in water until the film dissolves. Use more water and more rinses for heavier films like Ultra Solvy. Lay lace flat to dry.
