They are cut for the Aunties Two City Bag Uptown, pattern AT650 (pattern not included). The 8" x 17" size fits that bag's base; for other bags, cut your own from a Craf-Tex Plus 20" x 36" piece.

You get two bottoms in the pack, so you can make two bags or double them up in one bag for an extra-rigid base.

How do I fuse a double-sided bottom?

Sandwich the Craf-Tex between the outer fabric and the lining, wrong sides toward it, cover with a pressing cloth and press. Turn and press the other side. Let it cool flat before sewing it into the bag.

Can I wash a bag with a Craf-Tex bottom?

Yes. Craf-Tex Plus is machine washable and dryable. Follow the care needs of the outer fabric as well.

What else can I use for a stiff bag bottom?

Fast2Fuse Heavyweight is another double-sided fusible stiff interfacing; Timtex and Pellon Peltex 70 are sew-in options that need stitching or fusible web.

These are two precut 8" x 17" bag bottoms in Bosal Craf-Tex Plus, cut for the Aunties Two City Bag Uptown (pattern AT650). Craf-Tex Plus is a heavyweight, stiff non-woven that is fusible on both sides, so it bonds to the outer fabric and lining at once and gives the bag a flat, firm base that keeps its shape.

It is easy to mark, cut and sew, and it is machine washable and dryable. The pieces are 100% polyester and made in the USA. For the bag body, use the Uptown Bag precut of In-R-Form Plus foam.
