Description
Hobbs Tuscany Cotton Wool is a blend of 80% fine cotton and 20% superwashed wool, bonded so it resists bunching and fiber migration. It is designed for hand quilting as well as domestic machine and longarm work.
The wool adds loft, which gives more detail to the stitching pattern, plus drape and softness, without giving up the stability of the cotton. This king package measures 120" x 120", enough for king bed quilts in one piece, with no batting seam to hide.
Loft is about 1/8" and up. Quilt up to 4" apart and expect 3-5% shrinkage. Pre-washing is not recommended. Hobbs rates it excellent for dark fabrics and good for light fabrics; with any light top, test with your fabric first.

- Plan on batting at least 2" larger than your top on every side, and about 4" on every side if it is going on a longarm frame. This 120" x 120" batt covers finished tops up to about 116" x 116" for domestic quilting, or about 112" x 112" on a longarm.
