Description
This is the Midtown size of Bosal In-R-Form Plus Double-Sided Fusible stabilizer, cut 36" x 58" for the MidTown Bag in Auntie's Two City Bag patterns (pattern not included). In-R-Form is a foam stabilizer laminated to napped tricot and fusible on both sides, so you can press fabric to the outside and lining to the inside and get a bag that stands up on its own. It is soft and formable, and although it is sized for the city bag patterns, it works in any purse pattern.
The three precuts match the three bags: Uptown 54" x 58" (493B-50), Midtown 36" x 58" (493B-51, this package) and Downtown 18" x 58" (493B-52). Made in the USA.

Compare and choose
- Uptown, Midtown or Downtown: which precut do I need?
- Match the precut to the pattern you are making: Uptown is 54" x 58" for the Uptown Bag, Midtown is 36" x 58" for the MidTown Bag, and Downtown is 18" x 58" for the Downtown Bag. Each is the same In-R-Form Plus double-sided fusible foam. Uptown Bag precut
- Is the pattern included?
- No. The package is the stabilizer only. The Uptown City Bag pattern (AT650) and Auntie's Two City Bag patterns are sold separately.
- Double-sided fusible vs sew-in foam: which is better for bags?
- Double-sided fusible foam lets you press the outer fabric and the lining straight to the foam, so there is no shifting and no quilting needed to hold layers together. Sew-in foam such as Soft and Stable or In-R-Form Sew-In gives you more freedom to reposition and to quilt the panels. For a crisp, quick bag, fusible; for quilted panels, sew-in. In-R-Form Sew-In 36" x 58"
- How do I fuse double-sided foam without crushing it?
- Fuse one side at a time with a press cloth and steam, pressing and lifting rather than sliding the iron, so the foam keeps its loft. Let each side cool before turning it over. Test the heat on a corner first.
- Can I use it for a different purse pattern?
- Yes. The size is chosen for the MidTown Bag, but Bosal notes it works in any purse pattern. A 36" x 58" piece is the same as the In-R-Form Plus 36" x 58" yardage cut. In-R-Form Plus 36" x 58"
