Description
Pellon 460 Stretch Fuse is a lightweight fusible interfacing that stretches in every direction, made for fabrics that move: active wear, knit dresses, undergarments and any stretch fabric that would be deadened by a woven or non-woven interfacing. It is 100% polyurethane, so the result stays soft and supple while the fabric keeps its body and shape. The protective liner makes fusing to stretch fabrics easier, since the interfacing does not grab the iron or distort while it is being pressed.
It is sold on a 19" x 10 yard bolt. Compared with a knit tricot interfacing such as Pellon EK130 Easy-Knit, which stretches mostly across the grain, Stretch Fuse is multi-directional, so it suits four-way stretch fabrics and swim or athletic knits. For sheer knits where even this is too much, Pellon SK135 Sheer-Knit is the lighter option.

- Easy-Knit is a fusible tricot that stretches mainly in one direction and is the everyday choice for t-shirt knits, sweater knits and lightweight wovens that need soft support. Stretch Fuse stretches in all directions and recovers, which is what four-way stretch fabrics, swim and athletic wear and lingerie need. If the fabric stretches both ways, use 460. - What is the protective liner for?
- The liner covers the interfacing during fusing so the iron glides over it without snagging or stretching the polyurethane out of shape. Fuse with the liner in place, let the piece cool, then peel the liner away.
- Can I use Stretch Fuse on woven fabric?
- Yes. Pellon rates it for fabrics of all kinds, and on a woven it simply adds a soft, flexible layer. It will not make a woven stiffer; for crisp collars and bag panels choose a woven fusible such as SF101 instead.
- Will it stiffen my knit?
- No. The point of a polyurethane stretch interfacing is to add body while the fabric keeps its stretch and drape. It is far softer than a non-woven fusible, which is why it is specified for undergarments and active wear.
- Is there a non-Pellon stretch fusible you stock?
- Our other stretch interfacings are also Pellon: 865F Bi-Stretch Lite is a lightweight bi-stretch fusible and SK135 Sheer-Knit is the sheerest knit fusible.
