Description
Pellon EK130 Easy-Knit is a fusible knit interfacing on a 20" x 10-yard bolt in black. It is the interfacing we recommend for dresses, jackets and pants in light to midweight knits and wovens when you want shape without stiffness. It has a lengthwise grain for body and stability and a crosswise stretch for flexible shaping, so collars, necklines, front facings and cuffs keep their shape and still move with the fabric. Black disappears behind dark fabric where a white interfacing could shadow through; for light colors use the white bolt.
Easy-Knit also suits sweater knits and machine-knitted fabrics and does well with wool, flannel and gabardine. Used as an underlining, it stops show-through on light colors and semi-transparent fabrics and takes the scratch out of a wiry fabric against the skin. The 10-yard bolt is the economical way to keep it on hand for garment sewing.

- Does Easy-Knit work on woven fabric, or only knits?
- Both. It is a good match for light to midweight wovens such as wool, flannel and gabardine as well as knits and sweater knits. On a woven it gives soft shape and drape rather than the crisp hand of a woven interfacing.
- Which direction should I cut it?
- Easy-Knit stretches across the bolt and is stable along its length. Cut it so the stretch runs the same way as the stretch in your fabric, usually around the body, and the lengthwise grain runs where you want stability, such as down a front facing.
- Can I use it as an underlining to stop show-through?
- Yes. Fused to the wrong side of a light-colored or semi-transparent fabric it prevents show-through and adds comfort to scratchy fabrics without changing the drape much. Use white under light fabrics and black under dark ones.
- Black or white Easy-Knit?
