Description
Pellon SK135 Sheer-Knit is a soft, sheer fusible tricot interfacing in black on a 20" x 10-yard bolt. It is the interfacing for soft blouses and lingerie and for sheer to lightweight fabrics generally, where anything heavier would change the drape. Fuse it to a neckline, placket or facing and you get supple support that does not show, or use it as an underlining to give a sheer black fabric a little body and opacity.
The black bolt is the one for dark blouses, slips and dresses, where a white interfacing would shadow through sheer fabric. For light to midweight knits and wovens that need more body, step up to Easy-Knit EK130; for a featherweight non-woven in black, see 911FF.

- Both are fusible polyester tricots with crosswise stretch. Sheer-Knit is the lighter and sheerer of the two, for blouses, lingerie and sheer fabrics. - Sheer-Knit vs 911FF Featherweight for a sheer blouse?

- Is Sheer-Knit good for lingerie?
- Yes, that is one of its intended uses. It gives bra bands, slip facings and camisole necklines gentle support and stops stretch without adding bulk or stiffness, and the black bolt disappears behind dark fabric.
- Can I use it as an underlining?
- Yes. Fused to the wrong side of a sheer or very light black fabric it adds a little opacity and body while keeping the drape, which is often all a sheer blouse or dress needs. Use it on the whole piece rather than just the facings for an even look.
- Which direction does it stretch, and how should I cut it?
- Sheer-Knit stretches across the bolt and is stable along the length. Cut it so the stretch runs the same way as your fabric's stretch, usually around the body, and keep the stable direction where you want control, such as down a placket.
- Do you stock Sheer-Knit in white?
