Description
Pellon 950F ShirTailor is the firm, crisp fusible non-woven made for shirt collars, collar stands, cuffs and front plackets. It gives a smooth, neat, professional edge that stays crisp through washing. It is meant for light to mid-weight woven and knit shirtings: oxford cloth, chambray, gingham, madras, tattersall, pincord, flannel, polyester/cotton blends and kettlecloth. The 20" x 10 yard bolt will interface dozens of shirts.
ShirTailor has a lengthwise grain for stability and a crosswise stretch for shaping, so collars curve smoothly and cuffs stay flat. It is 100% polyester and one-sided fusible. For a softer shirt collar that drapes more like the fabric, use SF101 Shape-Flex woven cotton fusible; for jacket fronts, 855F Tailor's Elite.

- Which direction do I cut ShirTailor?
- It has a lengthwise grain for stability and crosswise stretch for shaping. Cut collars and cuffs with the lengthwise grain running the length of the piece so the edge stays stable and the stretch runs around the neck or wrist to help it curve.
- Will it fuse to polyester/cotton shirtings?
- Yes. Pellon lists polyester/cotton blends among the recommended fabrics, along with oxford, chambray, gingham, madras, flannel and kettlecloth. Use a press cloth and test a swatch first since Pellon does not print a temperature on this bolt.
- Does ShirTailor stay crisp after washing?
- That is what it is made for: a smooth, crisp collar that holds up to normal laundering. Fuse thoroughly, section by section, and let the piece cool flat before handling so the bond sets.
- Can I use it for bags or home decor?
