Description
Pellon 987F in the large-project size: a 45" x 60" package of one-sided fusible fleece, about four and a half times the coverage of the standard 22" x 36" package. It is enough for several structured bags, a wall quilt or a full home-decor project in one cut, with no seams in the fleece.
It adds a layer of softness, body and stability with no pinning, basting or sewing; fuses to fabric, cardboard or wood; and is completely sewing-machine safe once fused. It is 100% polyester. If you make bags in batches, the 45" x 10 yard bolt is the same fleece at the lowest cost per yard; for a single small project the 22" x 36" package is enough.

Compare and choose
- How much more coverage is the 45" x 60" package?
- About 4.5 times the standard 22" x 36" package: 2,700 square inches against 792. It is the economical choice if you make bags in batches or work on larger home-decor pieces, and it is 1.67 yards of the 45" bolt width, so it matches most pattern yardage charts. Pellon 987F 22" x 36" package
- What is the difference between fusible fleece and batting?
- Fusible fleece bonds directly to your fabric with an iron, so it stays put without quilting or basting, which is ideal for bags and small projects. Batting is loose and must be held by quilting stitches.
- 987F or Bosal single-sided fusible fleece 45" x 72"?
- They are competing one-sided fusible polyester fleeces of similar weight. The Bosal sheet is 12" longer; the Pellon is the one most bag patterns name. Either works for the same projects; choose by size and price. Bosal Single-Sided Light Fusible Fleece 45" x 72"
- How do I fuse Pellon 987F?
- Adhesive (dotted) side against the wrong side of the fabric, cover with a press cloth and press, do not glide, about 10 to 15 seconds per section, letting it cool before moving.
- Can I use it as batting in a wall quilt?
- Yes. Fuse it to the wrong side of the top, add the backing and quilt as usual. The result is flatter and firmer than a batted quilt, which helps a wall hanging stay square. It is not meant for bed quilts, where you want drape.
- Is it microwave safe?
- No. 987F is polyester with a fusible adhesive. For bowl cozies and hot pads use Pellon Wrap-N-Zap cotton batting with cotton fabric and thread. Pellon Wrap-N-Zap 45" x 1 yard
