Description

Pellon 987F Fusible Fleece on the 45" x 10 yard bolt is the format for bag makers, placemat makers and studios who go through fleece by the yard. It is a one-sided iron-on fleece that adds a layer of softness, body and stability to home decor, craft and apparel sewing with no pinning, no basting and no sewing to hold it in place. Ten yards is 360" of 45" wide fleece, the same as ten one-yard cuts or about twenty of the 22" x 36" packages. The white bolt suits light and mid-tone fabrics; under dark or semi-sheer fabrics use the black.

It can be fused to fabric, cardboard or wood and is completely sewing-machine safe. It is 100% polyester. Also stocked in black; for one-off projects the 22" x 36" and 45" x 60" packages are the same fleece.

Compare and choose

Bolt or package: how much fusible fleece do I need?
A typical tote uses about half a yard to a yard of 45" fleece; a set of six placemats about a yard. The 22" x 36" package covers one small bag, the 45" x 60" package a larger bag or two small ones, and the 10-yard bolt is around ten to twenty projects at a lower cost per yard. Pellon 987F vs Fusible Warm Fleece 1: what is the difference?
Both are one-sided fusible polyester fleeces sold by the bolt in 45" width. Warm Fleece 1 comes on a 20-yard bolt and is a touch loftier; 987F is on a 10-yard bolt and is the fleece most bag patterns name. They are interchangeable in most projects; buy by length and price. Fusible Warm Fleece 1 45" x 20 yd
Fusible fleece or Soft and Stable foam for bags?
Fleece gives soft padding and light body and lets the bag fold; foam gives a thick wall that stands up on its own. Use 987F for pouches, soft totes, linings and quilted bags; use foam for boxy, structured bags. ByAnnie Soft and Stable 36" x 58"
Black or white 987F?
White is right under most fabrics; switch to black for dark or semi-sheer outer fabrics so white fibers do not show at seams and needle holes. They fuse and sew identically. Pellon 987F bolt in black
Which side is fusible and how do I press it?
The adhesive side has a slightly shiny, dotted texture. Place it against the wrong side of the fabric, cover with a press cloth and press, do not glide, about 10 to 15 seconds per section, then let it cool before moving.
Is it microwave safe?
No. 987F is 100% polyester with a fusible adhesive and must not be used in microwave bowl cozies or hot pads. Use Pellon Wrap-N-Zap cotton batting for those. Pellon Wrap-N-Zap 22" x 10 yd
